Textures from Iris Van Herpen’s latest collection. The first was 3D modeled, laser cut into individual semicircles and then hand sewn to the dress, the second electroplated in a copper bath, and the third was created by layering semi-transparent sheets into the shape of a shell.

I just discovered her work and I am so completely intrigued. Electroplating isn’t actually that difficult, (http://web.media.mit.edu/~plusea/?p=554), I desperately want to know how this was done, and AHHH I need to finish my really not nearly this interesting at all work so I can do it!
